Two students selected as finalists in college photo competition

University of British Columbia Graduate School of Journalism students, Jes Abeita ‘11 and Shannon Dooling ‘12, have been selected as a finalists in Photographer’s Forum Magazine’s 31st Annual College Photography Contest.

Abeita, a second-year student in the Master’s program, has been taking photos since she was five years old.

“The program at UBC has really given me the chance to see my photography as another tool in my reporter’s toolkit, not just a hobby,” she said.

Over 13,000 images were submitted by college students from around the world, of that group 1570 images were selected as finalists.
