Edmonton Journal hires grad (‘10)

imageBrent Wittmeier, a member of the 2010 graduating class, has been hired as the new crime reporter for the Edmonton Journal.

Brent completed several internships at the Journal while earning his UBC degree.

Prior to going into journalism, Brent undertook extensive graduate work in religious studies.

He holds a master’s degree in theology from Regent College in Vancouver. For his journalistic thesis project at UBC, he explored the state of religion reporting at Canadian newspapers.

Brent is currently working at CBC Radio’s Tapestry program in Toronto. He begins his new appointment in mid-July.
