Stephen Ward to give two public talks on ethics and journalism

Stephen Ward, one of the leading thinkers on journalism ethics, will be giving two public talks at the UBC Graduate School of Journalism.

The first, “Re-writing Journalism Ethics for a Mixed Media World,” will be held Thursday, January 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 104.

The second, “Global Ethics in Journalism,” will be held at the same location the following Tuesday, January 10th, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Stephen Ward is the James E. Burgess Professor of Journalism Ethics in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also the director of the School’s Centre for Journalism Ethics.

Previously, he was the director of the UBC Graduate School of Journalism (2007-2008).

Prof. Ward is the award-winning author of The Invention of Journalism Ethics: The Path to Objectivity and Beyond (2005), Global Journalism Ethics (2010), and Media Ethics Beyond Borders: A Global Perspective (2010).
